The name of this publication, Your AI Copyeditor, has two meanings.

The first—which is reflected in the About section—refers to the fact that I am an editor with 30+ years of experience who has become skilled in editing AI-assisted content in the last 2 years.

The second refers to the idea that the AI can in fact help edit your work.

A lot of people are using generative AI to write their first drafts. This results in typical AI-sounding content: lifeless, robotic, vague, etc.

I like to write. So when I’m producing my own content, I often write the first draft myself (my ideas either come from my own muse, or in collaboration with AI).

Then I may take it to ChatGPT to help me improve it. And sometimes to expand upon my ideas.

In this case, the AI acts as an editor and I’m the author.

I want to show you what this process is like, so while writing the free article I posted today, I tracked my process with screenshots and prompts.
